Giddens([[:study:Giddens, A., & Pierson, C. (2002). 現代性：紀登斯訪談錄|2002:52]]): 「結構化(structuration)」一詞我最初是從法語借用來的，我認為在我借用之前，還沒有人曾經在英語中這樣使用它。我想要強調社會生活的川流不息。我們應當不僅僅把社會生活看作遠處的「社會」，或者僅僅看作近處的「個人」的產物，而是應當把它當作人們所進行的一系列持續不斷的活動和實踐，這些活動與實踐同時還複製著較大規模的機構與制度。這就是最初的想法，以此為起點，我試圖詳細闡明每一個重要用詞，恰恰式通過談「[[:people:Anthony_Giddens#agency|能動]]」和「結構」。我把反覆發生的社會實踐這一思想置於社會科學涵義的核心位置，而不是從「個人」，也不是從「社會」談起。


* 提出結構化理論的動機
** 解決社會學理論中「功能論-結構論」體制與「詮釋社會學」體制中，雙方的片面性
**「社會科學研究的主要領域既不是個體行動者的經驗(詮釋論)，也不是任何形式的社會總體的存在(功能-結構論)，而是在時空向度上得到有序安排的各種社會實踐。….社會行動者正是通過這種反覆創造社會實踐的途徑，來表現作為行動者的自身；同時，行動者們還界駔這些活動，在活動過程中再生產出使他們得以發生的前提條件。」
* 取向
** 由詮釋社會學出發： … 從概念上理解人的認知能力及其與行動的關聯。…瞭解活動中所顯現出的各種生活形式，以描述人的活動。
** 認知：反思性(reflexivity): 「實踐的連續性是以反思性為假設前提的。但反之，實踐之所以可能具有反思性，又恰是由於他存在連續性，使得實踐在時空向度上體現出獨特的類同性(the same)。」
* 重要概念
** 行動與結構二重性
** 結構: 在社會系統的再生產過程之中的規則和資源: 
*** 規則: 與實踐(practice)緊密相關, 是人們行動的概括, 也規範行動者的行動
** 結構二重性: 社會結構制約人的行動, 也是行動的前提和中介, 使行動成為可能
** 行動二重性: 行動者的行動既維持著結構, 也建立或改變著結構

* "把结构( structure) 称为" 规则" 和资源， 或将结构丛( structures) 称为可以孤立把握的系列规则与资源， 特别容易导致错误的阐释。"
